I just downloaded your album, I didn't know about the band until then. Where can I buy this legally? Not contributing to a local Metal band would be a total shame.

Ok, about the album. My assessment will be mostly subjective so here goes:

I like most of the tracks of the album. They're aggressive and technical, the leads kick ass, the drumming is great, the production is crisp, etc. However, as with any modern Thrash album, you guys could've gone up one notch with the speed. Onslaught's "Killing Peace", released last year, is a good example of what I mean. They never compromise on the speed.

Another conflict I found (purely subjective again) is with the vocal-style and the guitar production. The guitars have a very modern, chunky, produced sound whereas the vocals are very Megadeth-ish. I would've preferred an 80's guitar tone as well. It's something bands like Witchburner (Ger), Decapitator (USA) and Angelcorpse do. Their albums have 80's Thrash written all over them with the sound especially.

Tracks that stood out for me:
- In the Mouth of Madness
- Bloodshrine
- The Final Sign
- Cold!

Tracks I had trouble with:

- Kaleidoscope Of Lies (you guys are doing Thrash/Death, stick with it. There's no point diversifying into Melodic music, it just doesn't make any sense. Go berserk, not mellow)

- Epitaph (Do I spot Hardcore influence here? Good Satan, I hope not. Avoid breakdowns. Even Auschwitz, a perfectly good Metal track, suffers from it, I would've preferred some more crushing/crunchy riffs during the solo).

All in all, this is a good album from a band that can only improve in the future. This is a very solid album and an awesome listen but I'm not jumping with excitement yet (except with Bloodshrine, that track just stands out). And for the record, I'm not a huge Megadeth, Metallica or Opeth fan, so there's the confession. As far as Thrash goes, I'm into early Kreator, early Sodom, Morbid Saint, Necrodeath, Annihilator (first two albums only), early Slayer, Death Angel, Vio-lence, Toxic Holocaust and Absu.

Can you guys post a little more about your influences? The list on your biography page is too restrictive and "general".

Thanks for your review and your thoughts on the album! I appreciate the fact you wrote such a detailed post about your views.

Hmm, as far as the speed going up a notch, there are songs like Bloodshrine and In The Mouth Of Madness which are pretty fast. We didn't want to make every song fast, because then the whole album would've sounded the same. Like it's said in the biography, there's a lot of dynamics on this record..you have fast parts accentuated with slower/more mid tempo-ish parts and vice versa. The reason why you see such a sharp contrast in the type and style of songs on the record is because we're all influenced by so many different bands. Everything from old Metallica to bands like Corrosion Of Conformity, Opeth and even Nile to some extent. A few members of the band also like Iron Maiden a lot, which is why Kaleidoscope Of Lies turned out the way it did. It was meant to be melodic in an old-school way. My point is that when you draw on such diverse influences for your creative output, there is bound to be diversity on the record. I'm honestly glad that we put out an album like this as compared to a complete thrash/death album with all the songs at 250bpm or whatever. There was no shortage of riffs and ideas for that sort of an album, but we didn't do it..because we would've just limited ourselves to one style then. Besides, our lead singer is very good in our opinion at crafting vocal melodies. It would have been severely limiting for him to be doing the thrash vocals every song. He can do them very well, but he can also do a lot more with his vocals as is apparent on songs like Stars Collide.

As far as the production goes, the album was recorded on literally a shoe string budget so there is bound to be some room for improvement. However, im pretty satisfied with how it turned out. Me and Waqas (the other guitarist), like the guitar tones as well. They give a modern touch to the sound which isn't a bad thing in my opinion. We didn't set out to re-create 80's thrash, we're just doing our own thing. As far as the vocals sounding like Megadeth, I'm not sure I agree with you on that. I don't really think our singer sounds like Mustaine. But anyway, everyone has their own opinion and I respect yours.

Epitaph doesn't really have a break down in the metal core sense. The riffs are actually influenced by Black Sabbath and Corrosion Of Conformity.

Kaleidoscope Of Lies, some people love it to death, others prefer the heavier stuff. We like it, it's not our best song, but it was the first one we composed and recorded as a band. It's good for what it is in our opinion.

Thank you once again for your support and feedback. Do pass the album around to everyone you can!
